catching up

So today the items finally went out in the mail to my OWOH winners. Sorry about that delay but I have been miserable with some freakish cold that teamed up with my sore back and kicked my arse on Thursday night and is just beginning to let me feel slightly human today, though I still can't breath through my nose, lol. I hope everyone will be pleased and t o those who got the glow in the dark (either beads or light switch plate) all you need to do to charge them is expose 'em to sunlight or just room light will work.
I wrote one exam on Thursday morning and will be looking forward to another by June. The fun never stops :-) So I really want to nap like a kitty in the sun for just a few minutes and I will be leaving you now to go soak in some sunshine and rest my eyes. That truly is the perk of being a freelancer....as long as you get your work done you can pretend to be a kitty for brief moments, lol.

OWOH winners

Winners are baglady, beckie holso, kimberly r, aimee jeffries and joeyandalthea. It will be a mystery as to who gets what as after I took the photos I sealed up each ready to mail, lol. Tinkered a bit with my artfire and here. Not sure how I feel about it all but I'll let it sit a few days and see. In other things, I am busy with my order for the short times I am sitting. My back comes and goes so I am used to it and it is more often good to me than not so it's not so bad.
Can't believe tomorrow is the end of OWOH! I have visited many but will have to have a peek again tonight and try to get to visit with a few more. It's been lovely being able to do this.

Almost let the date slip by me and would have kicked myself! However here we are again in the final year of OWOH, One world One Heart worldwide blog event!!!!

A glow in the dark double switch plate. It is a regulation plastic switch plate cover that I have made a custom polymer clay cane for. The bonus of this is it glows in the dark!!! It is OOAK. Please remember only 1 comment no matter how many of the items you might like.

A set of OOAK beads ready for stringing. These were custom blended by me in polymer clay and nobody else will have any like them. Shades of gold, purples, translucent and grey. Please remember only 1 comment no matter how many of the items you might like.

Handmade necklace! Cording is some sort of jute twine material with faux rose quartz and honey amber as well as various seed beads and a pendant made from polymer clay and stamped with love in kanji. Closure is goldtone. This is a OOAK piece as well. Please remember only 1 comment no matter how many of the items you might like.

2 OOAK beads ready for stringing. These were made from a bit of the same custom polymer clay cane I used in the switch plate so, yes, they glow in the dark too! Please remember only 1 comment no matter how many of the items you might like.

Finally I came to a decision about what I will be giving away during the 'One World, One Heart' event. I have really hoped this will be something appealing to almost everyone in a "wow I want to keep that" or a "hey I bet I know somebody who'd love that" kind of way. I have decided on something simple but I hope timeless that is versatile.

Drum roll please.......

My lucky winner will get one of my large heart charms. It can be used as a pet collar charm, a key fob, a purse charm, zipper pull or even a pendant. And seeing that during the event is Valentines Day...well I thought it would be a good fit. I hope someone (or maybe a few someones) out there in internet land will like and want it.

So, that being said now, we wait for the official start and then my official post for you who want to win it to make your postings to so you can have the chance to win it. Wow, that was a run on sentence if I ever saw one, lol.

monday....ug!

Far too little sleep last night but I was up and back into the routine of getting my son up and off to school again! 7a.m. comes way too early after having 2 weeks of staying up 'til 2a.m. and getting up around noon!

So in spite of this or maybe because I am sleep deprived ... lol... I have created a new charm today. I actually made the prototype last night for my shih tzu then made one to sell and another one for her since the colours didn't turn out quite as I'd wanted them to. I'm now in the process of trying to decide if etsy or artfire will be my main shop. I'd probably keep both just list much more on one making it my main shop. Thing is I'm having trouble deciding which is better value for me! I like a whole lot of the features of artfire but would need to invest on a monthly basis to get the whole bunch of goodies available and list the amount of items I'd want. I like etsy because I know it (lol) but am wishing it had a few more features and not liking the per item cost of listing and selling. They're both really good though artfire I think has the marketing edge but I still don't know. Any of my readers sell on either or both or know someone who does 'cause I'd love opinions on what you found worked best.

I am still thinking about what to offer as the prize for the one heart one world blog event. I have ideas but I want to be sure it is something that anyone could make use of or at least not be embarrassed to give someone else, lol.

So chasing my own tail around again!

'K well I should be off so I can attempt to get something done before I have to go get my son from school. All in all a pretty productive Monday so far. How's your day been?
